SUCKER PUNCH

A public punching bag placed in the city invites people to write what they want to hit, attach it, and release it physically.

The interaction stops people, creates immediate participation, and captures raw, unscripted moments in real time. Each interaction becomes content.

The Insight

People carry constant low-level pressure—stress, anger, tension—but have few acceptable outlets to release it.

At the same time, most brand interactions are passive and easily ignored.

This creates an opportunity to turn emotional release into a physical, participatory experience.

The Concept

A branded punching bag installed in public space invites people to write something they want to “punch” and physically release it.

Participants write, attach, and engage with the bag directly. The simplicity of the interaction lowers the barrier to entry while the emotional prompt drives participation.

The result is immediate engagement and visible, evolving interaction in real time.

Content + Activation

The activation is designed to generate both interaction and content simultaneously.

As people approach, write, and engage, their reactions are captured in real time—creating authentic, unscripted moments.

Each interaction feeds a repeatable content loop:
installation → interaction → documentation → distribution

Results + Impact

The activation generated strong immediate engagement, with participants stopping, interacting, and contributing without prompting.

The simplicity of the interaction lowered friction, while the emotional hook drove participation.

The concept demonstrates:
• physical interaction increases dwell time and engagement.
• emotional prompts drive stronger participation than passive messaging.
• installations can function as both experience and content engine simultaneously.

My Role

Led the project end-to-end, from initial concept through execution and expansion.

Responsible for:

  • campaign concept development

  • creative direction and interaction design

  • fabrication and installation of the physical setup

  • content capture and documentation

  • overall experiential strategy

Focused on designing an interaction that was both physically engaging and inherently shareable.

BRAND APPLICATION

This approach reinforces product identity through action—positioning the brand not just as equipment, but as a tool for release, performance, and resilience.

This is repeatable across cities, events, and campaigns.
